JOINT STATEMENT REJECTING THE UNITED NATION’S ASSAULT ON ISRAEL AND THE SOVEREIGNTY OF ALL NATIONS

On September 18, 2024, the United Nations adopted a resolution calling on Israel to withdraw completely within twelve months to indefensible borders, including from the Jewish State’s historic homeland of Judea and Samaria and much of Jerusalem.

We reject this international directive and stand with Israel in continuing to defend her nation and people by preventing enemy control of territories from which they can be attacked with devastating effect.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has announced that he supports this vote and would abide by it. That is all the more unacceptable insofar as he intends to secure next week at the organization’s “Summit of the Future” emergency powers that will allow him to declare what constitutes “complex global shocks” and the response member nations must take in response. He has included “conflicts” among such shocks and will surely use such new authorities to interfere with, if not preclude, Israel’s self-defense operations.

Despite the fact that Summit of The Future’s efforts to transform the United Nations into an instrument of world government are wholly incompatible with our Constitution, the Biden-Harris administration fully supports that agenda.

This sets the stage for UN Sec. Guterres to impose sanctions on Israel if Israel fails to adhere to his dictates, flagrantly violating Israel’s sovereign powers. That same UN power could be imposed on any dissenting nation, including the United States.

We call on the American people to refuse to submit to these international efforts to set the stage for the destruction of Israel and the crushing of our own sovereignty and freedoms. The looming presidential election must afford the choice of an alternative that preserves our ability to remain a constitutional Republic with a limited, accountable government of, by and for the people and to safeguard this country’s vital interests, including the survival and security of the State of Israel.
